Assistant Contract Manager - Surfacing (Cadet Role)

This is a great development opportunity for someone keen to learn the technical and commercial sides of surfacing contracts while working closely with experienced leaders and site crews. You may have hand-on experience working with chip seal and asphalt and are now seeking the further your career by learning the commercial aspects of pricing, tendering and managing contracts. Or you may have a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering and are seeking practical industry experience.

Training will be provided to supplement the experience you will bring. You can expect to be involved in:

  • Assessing tender requirements and helping to develop competitive bids.
  • Pricing projects by assessing product quantities, equipment needs and staffing requirements.
  • Producing project reports including production tracking, monitoring costs and quality tracking.
  • Working alongside surfacing crews and site teams, when required.
  • Promoting strong health, safety, and environmental practices

About you - we expect that you will:

  • have recent experience in civil construction or surfacing, or a diploma or degree in Civil Engineering.
  • be motivated, reliable, and keen to learn
  • enjoy working in a team, while taking responsibility for your own work.
  • have good oral and written skills
  • display a safety-first mindset and attention to quality
